Young thespians will show off their stage talents Saturday morning with the annual Children’s Summer Theater Workshop showcase.
The public is invited to the 9:30 a.m. showing at the Iola Community Theatre Warehouse, featuring local elementary and middle school students.
The showcase will cap two weeks worth of drama instruction covering everything from stage presence to learning improvisation techniques.
The younger group of students will perform an adaptation of Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew.”
Maggie Wilson, a student instructor for CSTW, penned the adaptation.
The older group will perform an original piece written by student instructor Hallie Wolf, “When You Wish Upon A … Dragon?”
The students will also perform a number of improvised scenes through the morning.
There is no admission charge.
The students are under the instruction of Susan Raines, assisted by Hallie Wolf, Maggie Wilson, Michael Wilson, Hayden Wolf and Drew Smith.
As has become tradition, CSTW is sponsored by the Sleeper Family Trust.
