Santa’s Toy Shop will be in a new location when Jolly Old St. Nick returns Wednesday evening to greet children and hand out toys.

The toy shop, sponsored by Humanity House, has moved to 3 S. Jefferson Ave., on the east side of the courthouse square in the building most recently occupied by KwiKom.

But while Santa’s local address has changed, the other holiday events have remained the same.

All kids who show up will be treated to cookies, cocoa and a toy that they’ll pick from the hundreds of donated to the toy shop this year.

Santa will arrive in town via a parade into downtown Iola Wednesday evening.

The parade lineup begins at 5:30 at the intersection of Jefferson and Jackson avenues, for one trip around the square. Participants will sing a medley of Christmas songs along the way — “Rudolph, the Red-nosed Reindeer,” “Jingle Bells,” “Deck The Halls” and “Here Comes Santa Claus” are on the playbill.

The toy shop is open nightly, from 6 to 9 Wednesday, 6 to 8 Thursday and Friday and from 5 to 7 o’clock Saturday night.
