Two new members, Karen Culver and Cindy Hess, were among the eight Wings of Warriors members who met at the clubs March meeting.
Members discussed T-shirt sponsorships, one of the organizations primary sources of revenue. Proceeds are used to assist cancer victims with various expenses not covered by their insurance. Wings of Warriors has assisted 18 people over the past six weeks with Visa cards, groceries and utility assistance.
The shirts will be printed at the end of April. Those wishing to serve as a sponsor are encouraged to contact a Wings of Warriors member.
Cindy Hess donated $250 worth of Jordan Essential bath and body products for members to sell as another fundraiser. Hand lotion will sell for $12.
A Spring Fling and cornhole toss tournament will begin at 11 a.m. April 14 at the Gas Community Building. Lunch will be served from noon to 5 p.m. Enchiladas, rice, beans, drink and dessert are on the menu. Extra enchiladas will be sold for $20 a dozen.
Teams for the corn-hole tournament must sign up prior to the event. Registration costs $30 per team. Lunch will be provided.
First prize is a set of custom boards valued at about $300; second prize is $50; third is a corn basket.
