The Iola Area Chamber of Commerce is offering up a tour of Allen Countys new Prairie Queen Wind Farm.
The 10 a.m. tour departs from the Bowlus Fine Arts Center. Tickets sell for $12 apiece.
The windmills are up and running most days.
As part of the tour, spectators will learn how the timing of each is necessary to generate electricity; necessary weather conditions; how various land agreements came into play in order for the wind farm to come to Allen County; how the windmills were constructed; and how several roads were widened to accommodate the project.
