“The Alice in Wonderland Follies,” performed by The New York Theatre Ballet takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Bowlus Fine Arts Center.
The fairy tale classic by Lewis Carroll is taken to an even higher level of fantasy in this production that takes on an electric atmosphere of a vaudeville extravaganza.
Springing to life in dance are Alice and the White Rabbit, the Red Queen, the Caterpillar, the Chesire Cat, and the Mad Hatter among other characters. The music covers the gamut of styles from ragtime to opera to dance hall classics.
Act II features five dance selections commissioned by the National Endowment for the Arts performed by the artists.
From the sublime to the outrageous, the night’s production is sure to delight both young and old.
Tickets are $17 for the orchestra, $15 for the balcony, and half-price for full-time students.
