A new program will help Allen County Emergency Communications receive fast and accurate device location data for 911 emergency calls from mobile devices.

The first and most important question in every 911 call is “What’s the location of your emergency?” Knowing the caller’s location is the first step to dispatching live-saving emergency responders.

Using new technology through the RapidSOS NG911 Clearinghouse, data from millions of devices is integrated into Allen County’s existing 911 call-taking software. The system provides information seamlessly to call-takers and dispatchers as they work to send appropriate help quickly.

The NG911 Clearinghouse is a centralized and secure location information server. It supports a variety of devices and applications that are available to the general public.
