Allen County Community College choir students will bring a “doo-wop” flair to Valentine’s Day.

The choir, under the tutelage of instructor Ted Clous, will offer singing Valentine’s Day telegrams from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday.

The choir members are available to sing in person — covering a 20-mile radius surrounding Iola — or over the telephone.

Buyers can choose either of two songs: “In The Still of the Night” or “Goodnight, Sweetheart.”

Clous said in-person singing Valentine’s Day telegrams cost $25, which includes one song, a rose and personalized card. An extra $20 will bring both songs.

Telegrams via the phone will be sold for $10 apiece.

Clous said that as of Wednesday, 11 had signed up for the Valentine’s Day gifts.

Others can place orders by calling Clous at 365-5116, extension 258, or by contacting any of the 14 choir members.

Clous hopes to have the orders in by end of the school day on Friday.
