The remnants of Tropical Storm Hermine, which brought flooding and misery when it reached landfall in southern Texas Monday, could bring rain and thunderstorms to southeast Kansas in the coming days.
The storm was expected to weaken into a tropical depression later today before moving north and carrying torrential rains into Oklahoma and Kansas.
Forecasters call for a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms in Iola Wednesday night and a 70 percent chance of storms Thursday, with possible pockets of heavier rain. The weather system is expected to clear out of the area by Friday night.
