A graduate of Ottawa High School, he played baseball and football and wrestled while in school but this was his first martial arts competition. He was awarded the third place overall medal on the podium.
Alex studies at the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Gym in Ottawa.
Alex is the son of Amy Lynn Finch of Atchison, where she has just been named the new city manager.
He is the grandson of Chuck and Michelle Percy Johnson of Ottawa, and is the great-grandson of Jeanne Ann Percy of Iola and the late William Glenn Percy.
