Student earns AAA award

Trinkle will graduate May 27 as a valedictorian at Crookston with a 4.0 grade-point average.

Austin William Trinkle recently received a Triple-A Senior Recognition Award at Crookston (Minn.) High School Honors Banquet and Awards Ceremony.

The award goes to students who excel in academics, arts and athletics.

Trinkle will graduate May 27 as a valedictorian at Crookston with a 4.0 grade-point average.

After two years at Ottawa High School in Kansas, where he played varsity baseball, band, FFA and was on the honor roll, Trinkle moved to Crookston his junior year.

There, he was a varsity letterman for the Crookston Pirates baseball team; was on the school’s championship co-ed volleyball team; took part in the CHS competitive consumer and ag sciences; was a member of the CHS animal companion trainers; and played for the Crookston American Legion baseball team. He also earned honor roll recognition all four years of high school.

Trinkle plans to attend Kansas State University in the fall.

He’s the son of Amy Lynn Finch and the grandson of Charles and Michelle Percy Johnson. He is the great-grandson of Jeanne Anne Masterson Percy of Iola and the late William Glenn Percy.
