MOUND CITY — The Mound City Historical Park is getting an upgrade.
The Linn County News reported that the community’s historical society was revived last summer, with efforts being done to restore all of the park’s existing structures, including cabins, a bungalow and depot.
Now, a red barn is being rescued from ruin, the newspaper reported.
Workers have been brought in to replace a bowing roof and side walls. Seasoned barn wood still in good shape has been found and will replace rotted boards on the side. The wood will then be painted red to match the rest of the barn’s exterior, the News reported.
