Hutchinson Correctional Facility went on lockdown after five correctional officers were injured.

HUTCHINSON, Kan. (AP) — The Hutchinson Correctional Facility is on lockdown after five correctional officers were injured during a disturbance, state prison officials announced Thursday.

Visitations to the prison’s central unit have been canceled until further notice, starting Saturday, the Kansas Department of Corrections said. Inmates in that unit are under limited movement.

Visitation to the east and south units will be allowed.

The inmates involved in the disturbance are being held in restrictive housing during the investigation.

Prison officials provided no further information about the disturbance of the employees’ injuries.
