The Iola CITF/PRIDE Committees ongoing effort to upgrade the football stadium at Riverside Park received another boost this week with donations from Jan Sigg of the Iola High School Booster Club and Josh Oberley of Modern Woodmen of America. The donations came through funds raised by Booster Club members at a chicken-noodle fundraiser at the IHS Homecoming in October. Matching funds were provided by Modern Woodmen, a non-profit life insurance organization. Receiving the funds on behalf of CITF/PRIDE is Donna Houser. The next phase in the stadium improvements is focused on making the mens and womens restrooms ADA compliant, Houser said. She remains uncertain how much it will cost, but is confident it will be in the tens of thousands of dollars, because of the extensive concrete excavation necessary.
