The Allen County Relay for Life hopes to “Scare Away Cancer” Saturday.
Registration for the inaugural 5K run and 1-mile trick-or-treat walk will begin at 8:15 a.m. in the Riverside Park parking lot. The race begins at 9 a.m.
But physical exertion is only part of the fun.
Children 13 and under are invited to come dressed in their Halloween costumes. They can trick-or-treat along the walking trail, and will be provided with a healthy snack.
Trophies will be presented to the top three 5K finishers.
A silent auction also is planned.
Adult runners or walkers can register for $25, which pays for a T-shirt and snack.
Children 13 and under are admitted free of charge, unless they purchase a $10 T-shirt.
