The Southwind Extension District 4-H members competed on Saturday at the Kansas State Fair Poultry Judging Contest. The intermediate team of Abigail Mewies, Carly Kramer, Mary Brown and Ashley Riebel placed third in the state. Abigail Meiwes led the intermediate team with a fifth-place individual finish.
The senior team of Levi Meiwes, Jacob Riebel, Annika Hobbs and Jon Poffenbarger placed fourth in the state. Levi Meiwes led the senior group with a seventh-place finish and was followed closely by Jacob Riebel with a 10th-placed finish.
They were accompanied by their coach Becky Meiwes.
