A Humanity House soup and chili fundraiser Thursday raised at least $2,800 — and counting — which will go to benefit families in need of help in paying their utility bills over the winter. Leftovers have been frozen and sell for $20 a gallon for soup or chili and $12 for frozen pies. The food is a perfect elixir for blast the of cold air that blanketed the area this weekend. “And you sure don’t want to have to cook a full meal this close to Thanksgiving,” Masterson added.
