As an organization that exists solely to help others, Humanity House received a nice little assist Saturday morning.
The non-profit organization raked in more than $1,100 worth of groceries as part of the second annual Iola Rotary Club Grocery Grab.
The shopping spree was courtesy of Iolan Tim Stauffer, whose name was drawn as the winner during a special ceremony Saturday morning at G&W Foods.
Stauffer had announced prior to the drawing that if he were to win, he would pass the winnings immediately onto Humanity House.
Tracy Keagle, Humanity House founder, acquitted herself quite well during the shopping spree, filling five grocery carts full of essentials, such as flour, sugar, vegetable oil, cans of soup, canned vegetables and peanut butter and jelly.
All are items the organization was in desperate need of, Keagle said.
By the end of her five-minute spree, Keagle had rounded up more than 500 separate items, enough to fill the back of her pickup.

On top of the groceries, Iolan Hazel Ebberts, whose name was drawn as the second-place winner, donated her $125 G&W gift certificate to Humanity House as well.
