Motorists who travel U.S. 59 between Moran and Neosho County should prepare for short delays when a resurfacing project starts Monday.
The resurfacing project will cover 13 miles between the Neosho-Allen county line and the U.S. 54 junction at Moran
Project activity includes a ¾-inch mill of the pavement and placement of an ultra-thin bonded asphalt overlay. Flaggers and a pilot car will direct one-lane traffic through the work zone during daylight hours; expect delays of 15 minutes or less. The project should be completed in one month, weather permitting.
KDOT awarded the $1 million construction contract to Shilling Construction Company of Manhattan. Drivers are reminded to watch for the signs and flaggers, and to Give Em a Brake! at the work zone.
