Beginning today, the Register will print its unique QR code on the Classifieds page. When scanned by a Smart phone, the codes will connect the reader to the Register’s Facebook page, to better stay in touch with breaking news.
Facebook also allows readers to easily give feedback to ongoing events and enhance connectivity between readers.

To date, the Register has 1,000 Facebook friends, double that of a few months ago when the Register began to take the social media site seriously as a venue for local news.
Access to the QR Codes is free. On your phone’s app market enter QR Codes and a number of applications are available.
Download the application on your phone, then you’re set to scan our QR Code and “like” our page.
