The Triumphant Quartet will kick off the Southeast Kansas Christian Artists Series 2010-11 season with a Saturday performance at the Bowlus Fine Arts Center.
Tickets for the 7 p.m. show are available by calling 365-7496. Orchestra seats cost $15 and balcony seats cost $12 if purchased in advance. Prices go to $18 and $15, respectively, the night of the performance.
The group is relatively new to the southern gospel music scene, noted Dee Singer, SEKCAS board member.
Triumphant Quartet was formed in 2004 and has only been touring since 2008, but demand nationwide for the Tennessee-based group has exploded, Singer said.
“We had to book them in February of 2009 in order to get them here now,” shesaid. “It’s been a long time coming for us. They’re a tremendous group.”
Triumphant Quartet has performed as such venues as Carnegie Hall in New York City and at the Miracle Theater in Dollywood. They also received several awards from southern gospel followers and in 2009 received a Grammy nomination for Best Southern County or Bluegrass Gospel Album for their release “Everyday.”
