Traffic accidents lead to arrests
Iola police officers arrested Ruth Jackson, 71, LaHarpe, for suspicion of driving while suspended, no insurance and disobeying a traffic signal following a traffic accident Sept. 10 in the 100 block of South State Street.
Officers said Jackson was northbound on State Street and ran a red light, striking an eastbound vehicle driven by John T. Bradley, 40. Jackson’s vehicle then struck a westbound pickup driven by Dennis Ringwald, 70, who was stopped at the intersection.
There were no injuries.
Joseph Fitzpatrick, 18, Ocala, Fla., was arrested Sept. 8 for suspicion of driving while intoxicated following a traffic accident in the 1800 block of North Cottonwood Street.
Officers said Fitzpatrick was turning into the Allen Community College parking lot when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a light pole’s concrete foundation.
Fitzpatrick then drove the vehicle farther into the parking lot, where it was later found.

Arrest reported
Officers arrested Robert Earlywine, Iola, for suspicion of burglary in the 700 block of East Lincoln Street Sept. 8.

Tools stolen
Scott Black II told Iola police officers Sunday somebody removed two containers with miscellaneous hand tools from his vehicle in the 200 block of North Elm Street. He valued the tools at $200.

Cell phone taken
Juana Rojas reported Saturday the theft of her cell phone from the 500 block of North Second Street.

Chromebook taken
Jacqueline Leftwich reported the theft of a chromebook Friday from the 100 block of South Kentucky Street.

Purse stolen
Dora Wing, Gridley, told officers Friday somebody stole her purse from a vehicle while it was parked at Walmart.

Air hose taken
An air hose was reported stolen Sept. 8 from Pump-N-Pete’s in the 700 block of North State Street, Iola police officers said. An investigation continues.

Vehicles collide
John Norris, 62, was pulling onto State Street from Miller Road Saturday when his vehicle collided with a southbound vehicle driven by Emily J. Jones, 29. Officers said Norris failed to yield. Neither was hurt.

Vehicle hit
An eastbound vehicle driven by Johnathan W. Lott, 43, struck the rear end of a vehicle driven by Savanna R. Hannum, 26, Sept. 6, while Hannum was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Lincoln and Kentucky streets. Neither was injured.

Vehicle struck
A vehicle owned by Jimmy Skaggs was parked in a driveway in the 600 block of North Oak Street when an unknown motorist pulled into the driveway, striking the car. The driver left without notifying anyone, officers said.

Vehicles collide
Alyssa N. Blevins, 31, was northbound on South Walnut Street Sept. 7 when her vehicle collided with an eastbound vehicle driven by Tyler Pollet, 16. Neither driver was injured, nor was a passenger in Pollet’s vehicle.
