HUMBOLDT — Humboldt Police Chief Brian Dillow has been placed on administrative leave, days after criminal charges were filed against him.
Humboldt City Administrator Cole Herder announced the suspension in an email to the Register.
Last week, Allen County Attorney Jerry Hathaway filed a count of domestic battery, another count of battery and two counts of criminal damage to property against Dillow.
Dillow was arrested June 27 at a Humboldt residence. He had been on medical leave since his arrest.
Herder said Scott Aikins, a lieutenant with the Humboldt Police Department, will remain in charge on an interim basis. Aikins has overseen the department since Dillow’s arrest.
