The Car Barn Museum is the site of the The Winter 2017 meeting of the The Allen County Historical Society, Inc., at 2 p.m. Sunday.
“It’s a loose schedule but we call it a meeting. Essentially it’s just going to be an open house,” Curator Kurtis Russell said.
Renee Debler and Steve Bulk, volunteers at the barn, will provide tours, or visitors can walk around by themselves. The barn contains automobiles as old as the 1922 Ford Model T and as recent as the 1997 Chevrolet Corvette. In addition to the cars, Debler said visitors can view memorabilia including baseball, football, stamp and art collections.
The meeting is open to the public. Drinks and snacks will be provided.
“The historical society will also host a wreath laying ceremony at the statue of Maj. Gen. Frederick Funston on Feb. 19,” Russell said.
The historical society offers free guided tours for the main Allen County Historical Museum, The Major General Frederick Funston Museum and Boyhood Home Museum and the Old Allen County Jail Museum.
