MORAN — Marmaton Valley High School students will rebuild a press box destroyed by a fire last fall.
The USD 257 Board of Education approved the request to have the high school construction students build the structure, adjacent to the football field.
The 10-foot by 20-foot structure should cost no more than $12,000, board members said.
There were no injuries in the fire, which started shortly after a junior high football game concluded the evening of Sept. 28.
Newly constructed aluminum grandstands were not damaged in the blaze. Press box announcers and scorekeepers operated from the bleachers for the rest of the 2017 football season.
