Iolan Nich Lohman, director of clinical operations at Iola Pharmacy, is seeking a seat on the Iola City Council.

Lohman, who lives in Iola’s Third Ward, filed this week, the Allen County clerk’s office reported.

He is the second Third Ward candidate to file, along with incumbent Gene Myrick. The Third Ward covers southwest Iola.

Prospective candidates have until noon June 1 to file for city or school board seats this year.

If necessary, a primary election will be held in August, and the general election in November.

IN A RELATED matter, Josiah D’Albini, another City Council candidate, has filed in Iola’s First Ward. The Register incorrectly reported Thursday he was in Ward 3.

D’Albini has moved to the First Ward, which covers much of the northwest part of Iola.

The Register regrets the error.

SOME SCHOOL board seats are also up for grabs.

In USD 256, Marmaton Valley, Bill Bigelow has filed to retain his seat, and Jackie Walls has filed for a position. The terms of Jason Kegler and Steve Becker also are expiring.

In USD 257, Mandey Coltrane and John D. Wilson filed for seats. The terms of Nancy Toland, Jerad Larkey and Jennifer Coltrane are expiring.

In USD 258, Kevin W. Heisler has filed to keep his seat. The terms of Nathan Ellison and Helen S. Harrington also are expiring.
