Alan Lee Greer, 28, faces a charge of sexual exploitation of a minor.

The charges were filed this week by Attorney General Derek Schmidt’s office in Allen County District Court.

The complaint alleges that Greer “did … employ, use, persuade, induce, entice or coerce a child … to engage in sexually explicit conduct with the intent to promote any performance.”

The offenses occurred between January 2007 and October 2008, according to the complaint. The victim would have been less than 2 years old when the offenses began.

Greer is in custody in Sedgwick County Jail on similar sex charges. A jury trial in that case is scheduled for Monday.

Allen County District Judge Daniel Creitz denied bond for Greer when he is transported to Allen County to face the local charges. A preliminary hearing here is Feb. 22 at 1:30 p.m.

ary D. Baker, Gas, was sentenced to 17 years in prison for sodomizing a minor.

Baker, 27, was sentenced Monday in Allen County District Court for one count of aggravated sodomy.

Judge Daniel Creitz agreed to a “downward departure” from Kansas sentencing guidelines for such a conviction, which could have netted a 25-year prison sentence.

Baker also was ordered to pay $395 in restitution to the victim and $1,645.34 in medical expenses.

Baker was found guilty to sodomy in December. Prosecutors said he sodomized a child under the age of 14 on Jan. 13, 2011.

Upon completing his prison sentence, Baker must register as a sex offender for life, Creitz ordered.
