LAHARPE — Seth Owen Pace, 25, is in custody after he was accused early Monday of stabbing his mother.

Allen County Sheriff Bryan Murphy said deputies received a call shortly after midnight Monday morning of the reported stabbing in LaHarpe.

As deputies were en route, they were flagged down along U.S. 54 in Gas by Judith Pace, 45, Seth’s mother. The deputy summoned an ambulance and remained with Ms. Pace until an ambulance arrived to treat her injuries and transport her to the hospital.

Judith Pace was later transported to a hospital in Overland Park. Her condition was not immediately available.

When deputies arrived in LaHarpe, the younger Pace was not at the original residence, Murphy said. He was found about a block away, however, and was arrested without incident.

After executing search warrants of the residence and a vehcile, deputies forwarded information to the Allen County attorney’s office and requests for a charge of attempted murder.

Seth Pace is being held at Allen County Jail with no bond.
