Ours isn’t a romantic or funny story, just a long one.

Jack and I met at a carnival at Riverside Park in the spring of 1955. He was home on leave from Camp Pendleton. He was a Marine serving in Korea.

We dated long distance and were married Feb. 3, 1957. He had one semester of college completed when we married. After his tour completion from the service, Jack finished his education at Pittsburg State University. I worked at a Pittsburg bank during this time.

We settled in Iola, never thinking we would spend the rest of our lives here, but we have. We celebrated our 64th wedding anniversary on Feb. 3, 2021.
