Doris Fugate, a volunteer with the Humboldt PRIDE program, and the City of Iola have been recognized this month with Rising Star Awards by Kansas PRIDE.
The award goes to individuals, businesses or other organizations that have gone above and beyond to contribute to the betterment of the community, according to a Kansas PRIDE press release.
The award is given in conjunction with K-State Research and Extension, the Kansas Department of Commerce, Kansas Masons and Kansas PRIDE, Inc.
