Iola officials are hosting the public for an open house-style meeting to learn about options regarding extension of the Missouri Pacific Trail.
The event runs from 6 to 7:30 at the John Silas Bass North Community Building, 505 N. Buckeye St.
The trail extends from the Prairie Spirit Trail on the west to the tennis courts at Iola High school.
The plans are to extend the trail to the east to connect to the new Iola Elementary School site east of Kentucky Street.
