A core group of 14 volunteers accepted paper, plastic, cardboard and glass as part of a recycling effort in Iola Saturday.
The effort was organized by Steve Strickler of Iola.
Allen County offered a trailer to haul the refuse to Coffey County’s recycling center in Burlington. Since Iola’s Rotary Club has stopped its recycling program in December, nothing official has fill its shoes.
