Arrests reported
A traffic stop in the 700 block of East Madison Avenue early Wednesday morning led to the arrests of Jennifer Cady, 44, and Kristopher Trester, 44, both of Fort Scott, Iola police officers said. Cady was arrested for suspicion of distributing methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a school, possessing drug paraphernalia and disobeying a stop sign. Trester was arrested for suspicion of distributing methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a school, possessing drug paraphernalia and driving while suspended.
Clinton Fletcher, 40, Gas, was arrested Tuesday morning in the 100 block of North State Street for suspicion of driving without a required interlock device, no liability insurance, expired registration, no drivers license in possession and no seat belt.
Officers arrested Glenda Vorse, 74, for suspicion of driving while impaired and improper driving on a laned roadway at the intersection of East and First streets Monday.
Threat reported
Andreya Myrick told Iola police officers Wednesday a known suspect had sent her threatening text messages. Officers are requesting the Allen County attorneys office to file a charge against the suspect for making a criminal threat.
Card misuse reported
Former Iolan Teresa Jackson told Iola police officers Thursday somebody used her credit card without authorization.
On Tuesday, Heather Skahan told officers a person used her financial card to make purchases totaling $36.
Vehicles collide
Daniel O. Foust, 17, was eastbound on Miller Road July 9, and was attempting to drive onto State Street when his pickup struck a southbound car driven by Janice Varvel, 67.
Iola police officers said a nearby work site may have obstructed Fousts vision.
Neither was injured.
Collission reported
Derek J. Wallace, 45, was merging from one lane to another while westbound on Madison Avenue July 9, when the U-Haul truck and trailer tandem he was driving collided with another westbound car driven by Glen G. Robinson, 87. Neither driver was injured, nor were their passengers.
