Celebrating birthdays this week were Keysha Smith on Tuesday, Cheryl Klingensmith on Wednesday and Bryan Crites on Friday. Calvin and Evelyn Lay celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary Thursday.

An impromptu quartet of Phyllis Loomis, Kay Compton, Patty Herschberger and Cheryl Klingensmith sang “Softly and Tenderly,” under the direction of Richard Klingensmith.

Pastor Traw leads Bible Study at 3 p.m. Tuesdays on the New Testament book of Acts.

Reunion

The Guenther family reunion was held at the home of Mel and Linda Guenther in Carlyle. Attending were Dennis and Jackie Guenther and Eric Guenther, Humboldt; Chris Dutcher, Kendra Davis and sons Collin, Camden and Cade, Bartlesville, Okla.; Chase Evans and Torie Barbee, Tulsa; Matt and Brook Bumstead and sons Breckin and Rhett, Girard; Jeremy and Amber Eaton and son Jacob, Lawrence; Cheryl Guenther and grandchildren Kinz, Lane and Hayden, Lamar, Mo.; and Susan Munzesheimer, Carlyle.

Visiting Jim Hinson and Joanne McIntyre Sept. 1 from Emporia, were Jim’s daughter, Diana, and her husband, Richard Deeds.

Visiting Jim and Joanne Friday were Branden, Ashton and great-grandson Jaxen Birk, from Gridley.
