Tuesday’s “Pink Moon” gave stargazers a spectacular full moon, which appeared slightly brighter than other full moons because the satellite’s orbit brought closer to earth than at other times of the year.
The full moon in April is known as the pink moon, explained Humboldt astronomer and photographer Mike Myer, who snapped this image as the moon rose above the eastern horizon.
