Throngs of Iola youth filled Riverside Park’s recreation building Saturday morning for the City of Iola’s annual Easter candy hunt, as shown above. With soggy weekend conditions leaving over 3.5 inches of rain, the event was held indoors.

Three staggered heats were held to accommodate all the children, who left with baskets brimming. It was a sweet start to the weekend.

A similar scenario played out Saturday afternoon in LaHarpe, where a gaggle of youngsters crowded into City Hall for an indoor hunt hosted by the LaHarpe PRIDE Committee. Those also were split into three age groups.
