Happy Hearts FCE members met at the home of Ann Houk Monday evening.
Houk and Maria Wilson attended the district recognition day at Erie. The program was on the Harvey Girls. Happy Hearts received a gold seal for their accomplishments.
The clubs Walk Kansas team completed the program.
Houk gave the lesson on Human Trafficking. Human trafficking is the third largest criminal industry in the world. Eighty percent of victims are female and most are women of color. Fifty percent of victims are under 18. If you suspect human trafficking, call 866-347-2423. Do not attempt to confront a suspected trafficker or alert a victim of your suspicions.
The next meeting will be 7 pm. June 18 at Riverside Park.
