CANEY The Iola High School FFA chapter pulled in several top medals at district speech and food science competitions hosted by Caney Valley High School Dec. 3.
The Iola speech team finished in third. Earning individual medals were: freshman division Justice Wilson, fifth, and Ursula Billings, sixth; sophomore division Levi Meiwes, fourth, and Lorie Carpenter, ninth; junior division Elka Billings, fourth, and Torre DePriest; extemporaneous, Brody Nemecek, fifth.
The food science team took fourth, with Jack Eyster winning the individual competition. Casen Barker placed 10th.
