Patrick Schmidt, candidate for the 2nd Congressional District, will be at Iola’s new coffee shop, Fillmore Coffee House & Plant Cafe, 102 S. Washington, at 2:30 Thursday afternoon for a meet-and-greet.
Schmidt, a Democrat, is running against incumbent Rep. Jake LaTurner.
Schmidt, the son of public school teachers, is a former U.S. Navy intelligence officer.
On Saturday, Chris Mann, candidate for Kansas Attorney General, will meet with constituents at 1 p.m. at Humboldt’s coffee shop, Octagon City Coffee Co., 103 S. Ninth St.
Mann, a Democrat, is a former police officer who is now practicing law.
Mann is running against Republican Kris Kobach.
