GARNETT — An arraignment hearing for Kincaid farmer Arlyn Briggs is set for March 20, according to Anderson County Attorney Elizabether Oliver.
Briggs faces two felony criminal threat counts and a misdemeanor for unlawfully requesting emergency service assistance, according to the Anderson County Review.
The incidents stem from summer of 2022 when Briggs allegedly threatened Anderson County Sheriff’s officials.
At the time, Briggs was also running for Kansas governor in the Republican primary. He lost the race to then-Attorney General Derek Schmidt.
Briggs also owns property in Iola and Allen County.
