COLONY — A 5-year-old Kincaid boy died Sunday after being pulled from a pond in the Colony area.
Ruger Petersilie had been reported missing to Anderson County dispatchers about 6:20 p.m. Sunday.
Petersilie was located in a nearby pond, and life-saving aid was attempted until Anderson County Emergency Medical Services personnel arrived.
Despite the life-saving efforts at the scene, and later at Anderson County Hospital, he succumbed to the injuries.
The son of Randy and Sarah (Gill) Petersilie was a pre-kindergarten student at Crest USD 479.
Extra support for classmates and staff has been made available, Crest Superintendent of Schools Shane Walter said.
