19 HUMBOLDT Charles L. Fussman has been named superintendent of Monarch Cement Co., succeeding Harris Fegely, the company president, Walter H. Wulf, said today. Fussman has been employed by Monarch since 1948, when he started as a summer laborer while attending college.
20 The John Redmond Dam, for which the House of Representatives authorized an initial $400,000 yesterday, is the key structure in the Army Engineers plan for controlling floods and providing a more stable flow of water on the Neosho River. Located approximately two and a half miles northwest of Burlington, the reservoir will have a total capacity of 387,000 acre feet of water. The dam will be about 41,400 feet in length with a maximum height of 79 feet above the stream bed. The estimated cost of the dam is $28,400,000, plus rights of way and planning.
