Iola High School freshman Jessica Tidd was picked as one of 10 $5,000 winners Monday as part of a state-sponsored Learning Quest 529 Savings Account promotion. On hand for her recognition were Tidds father, David, left, and Kansas State Treasurer Jake LaTurner. LaTurner is an outspoken advocate for the Learning Quest 529, a tax-advantage savings mechanism for students looking to save up money for their college educations.
