LAHARPE — It’s time for LaHarpe residents to dream a little.
Organizers of a Thursday meet-and-eat dinner and community meeting are hoping for guidance on how to generate as much as $20,000 for civic improvements.
The event, sponsored by Thrive Allen County and the Kansas Health Foundation, will cover IOBY (in your own backyard) crowdfunding.
The goal is to think of ways to raise $10,000 locally for various civic projects, with the hopes of drawing a $10,000 matching grant from KHF.
The event runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at LaHarpe City Hall, and will be catered. The public is invited.
Organizers will use survey results friom previous community activities, highlighting everything from better signage and street lights to street repairs and park improvements,  to help guide the discussion at the outset.
The rest is up for the community members in attendance to help decide.
