Three juveniles are believed responsible for vandalism that occurred in the old Lincoln Elementary School building over the weekend.
Iola police officers said the juveniles — ages 16, 14 and 9 — are suspected of entering the building in the 700 block of North Jefferson Avenue and discharging several fire extinguishers.
After being notified of the damage Sunday, officers were able to quickly locate and identify the youths.
Information about the incident is being forwarded to the Allen County attorney’s office.
Lincoln closed last May, and is being used on an interim basis by the ANW Special Education Cooperative as Hope Academy.
