Allen County Attorney Wade Bowie will decide what charges will be filed against five Humboldt juveniles, ages 16 and 17, who allegedly vandalized property owned by Paul Johnson north of Humboldt.
According to Allen County officers, two residents of the rural area, alarmed over a rash of thefts and vandalism the past several years, noticed a suspicious vehicle pull onto Johnson’s property Saturday night.
Officers said the juveniles went into several outbuildings, where they smashed windows and damaged contents, including an antique lamp.
With the help of the juveniles’ parents, all were identified.
The juveniles admitted to officers theft of a carved wooden bear from the Johnson property the previous weekend. The bear was retrieved from south of Humboldt, where it had been dumped.
