Iola police arrest suspect in Pittsburg stabbing

Iola police officers arrested a man wanted in connection with a stabbing Saturday in Pittsburg.

Officers made the arrest Tuesday afternoon in the Iola shopping plaza parking lot in the 700 block of North State Street.

Taken into custody was Damian Alexander Capps, according to Bob Droessler with the police department.

Droessler said a warrant for Capps’s arrest alleging attempted murder had been issued out of Crawford County.

Droessler declined to detail the circumstances leading up to the arrest.

According to KOAM TV, the stabbing happened Saturday behind a home on West Martin Street in Pittsburg. The victim was treated at a hospital in Springfield, Mo., and later released.
