Iola High School FFA team does great at state

MANHATTAN — Iola High School’s FFA chapter brought home several top awards at the Kansas State FFA Career Development Event, which ran Sunday through Tuesday at K-State University.

The IHS dairy cattle team, buoyed by Hannah Gardner’s third-place finish individually, captured second place.

The livestock squad, led by Brody Nemecek’s top individual overall score and the best reasons mark, took home third place.

The food science team finished 10th overall, the vet science squad placed 19th in the silver division, and the poultry team took 19th in the bronze division.

The students are under the guidance of adviser Amanda Strickler.
