Jon Wells had hoped to make it through his term as Iola mayor without having to cast a single vote.
He made it two months.
Wells cast the tie-breaking vote Monday in favor of a new personnel policy that transfers much of the personnel decisions for city employees from the Iola City Council to City Administrator Sid Fleming.
