HUMBOLDT — K.B. Criss, USD 258 superintendent of schools, has returned home after suffering a heart attack Friday.
Criss was attending a meeting with school superintendents from across the state in Wichita Friday when he fell ill, reported Lori Buchholz, USD 258 board clerk.
He was discharged from Kansas Heart Hospital and remains at home.
Criss has been in regular contact with USD 258’s other administrators, Kay Bolt, principal at Humboldt’s elementary and high schools, and John Johnson, high school principal, as well as Stephanie Splechter, high school athletics director
“We have some good people here in Kay, John and Stephanie,” Buchholz said, “and K.B. has been in touch if we need him.”
Criss has been superitendent at Humboldt since 2010. Prior to that, he taught and was principal at Humboldt High School. He also is head coach of Humboldt’s football team.
