Kathy Hale of Savonburg Public Library, and Cynthia Chalker of Moran Public Library attended the Southeast Kansas Library System workshop: “Small Libraries Summit” at the Iola Public Library on Wednesday.

The event was limited to public libraries in communities of fewer than 1,500 people. Participants discussed their strategies for dealing with programming challenges, time management, library board relationships and reporting. The implications of these topics in the one-person library with few weekly hours were explored extensively.

Sandy Wilkerson and Kim Rutter, SEKLS library consultants, presented suggestions for best practices in these areas of library practice.
